- The following treatments are not effective for removing any arsenic:
- Boiling water (this will increase the arsenic concentration)
- Ultraviolet (UV) light
- Cation exchange (commonly called a water softener)
- Granular activated carbon (GAC)
- Aeration
- Magnetic water conditioners
- Water filtration pitchers (Brita, etc.)
- Water filtration from the refrigerator
- Sediment filter
